The Perks of Getting Old

My back goes out more than I do,
And naps are now a dream come true.
My knees sound like a creaky floor,
Just getting up’s become a chore!

I used to party all night long,
Now bedtime comes at dusk — not wrong!
I squint to read the shampoo bottle,
And make weird sounds each time I waddle.

I say, “Back in my day…” a lot,
Forget what I was saying — forgot!
My phone is full of doctor’s dates,
And pills that come in colors and crates.

But hey! There’s wisdom in this gray,
And naps twice daily? YES, I say!
No more pressure to be cool,
Now “comfy shoes” are golden rule.

So laugh at wrinkles, don’t be blue,
They’re just life’s roadmaps drawn on you.
Old age might come with aches and bends,
But it also brings great jokes — and friends!
