Martin ended a letter to his dad with this question,

“Is Washington’s picture still on the dollar bill?”

His Father wrote back, “Of course it is. Why do you ask?”

Martin answered, “Because it’s been so long since I’ve seen one!”

A woman was chatting with her next-door neighbor.

“I feel really good today. I started out this morning with an act of unselfish generosity. I gave a twenty dollar bill to someone who was needy and down on his luck.”

“Twenty whole dollars? That’s a lot of money to just give away. What did your husband say about it?”

“Oh, he thought it was the proper thing to do. He said, ‘Thanks.'”

The woman was very rich and the man was poor but honest.

She liked him, but that was all, and he knew it.

One night he had been a little more tender than usual. “You are very rich,” he ventured.

“Yes,” she replied frankly, I’m worth 1.25 million dollars.”

“And I’m poor,” he replied. “Will you marry me?”

“No.”

“I thought you would say no.”

“Then why did you ask me?”

“Oh, just to see how a man feels when he loses 1.25 million dollars.”

The teacher asks Joanie,

“If you had a million dollars and gave away one quarter and another quarter and then another quarter, how much would you have left?”

Joanie replies, “A million dollars minus 75 cents.”
