Think about it carefully before scrolling down to the answer; take the time to break it down.

Still haven’t got it?

Well, not to worry. Head on down below for the answer.

1.

The answer to the “bat and ball” riddle is 5 cents.

Many will reply with an answer of 10, which is incorrect. Let us explain…

If the bat costs $1.00 more than the ball and the total is $1.10, then the ball must cost 5 cents and the bat must cost $1.05.

If the ball were to cost ten cents then both together would cost $1.20.

It’s a tricky one, as most people read it as though the bat costs a definitive $1.00.

2. 5 minutes

The rate of 5 machines is 1 widget per minute, so the rate of 100 machines is 1 x 20 = 20 widgets per minute, so it will take 100 machines 100/20 = 5 minutes to make 100 widgets.

3.47 DAYS
IT WILL TAKE 47 DAYS AS ON 48 TH DAY THE LAKE IS COMPLETELY COVERED WITH FLOWERS. IS ALSO GIVEN THAT THE PATCH OF THE FLOWER DOUBLES IN SIZE THE NEXT DAY. SO LOGICALLY IF IT IS HALF FILLED ON the 47TH DAY THEN ONLY IT WILL DOUBLE IN SIZE AND COVER THE FULL FIELD.
